I have seen a lot of posts that AI vibe-coded solutions are going to replace BI dashboards. I think that is a bit dramatic, and the future state is likely to be some kind of middle ground. The ability to produce, edit, and replicate visuals without being reliant on tokens or a non-deterministic model is too critical.
That said, I do think you are likely to see web portals start to wrap around existing solutions. For example, this is a completely AI-generated React app working with Power BI Embedded. The report and semantic model are hosted in Power BI, and then with Embedded you can display either the full report or a specific visual and even pass filters to the underlying semantic model.
Because the full thing is just Power BI, I can change the report or the data within the visuals without having to touch anything in the app; however, the React app can be something completely custom, where if I wanted to get really crazy, I could even start to combine different tools from different vendors into the same portal - think something fun like Databricks Genie chat next to a Power BI report.
Vibe coding and AI are not going to kill BI tools, but they do allow you to break them free of the confines of what traditionally has been possible.
