As per the 3GPP specs, 5G NR is supposed to support up to 2 closed-loop uplink power control processes.
I understand that some features, such as the support for up to 4 multiple pathloss estimation processes, were added to support beam-based power control.
And while I believe that the multiple closed-loop processes were are also for beam-based power control, I haven’t found any information that relates the two.
Does anyone know what are the use cases for the multiple closed-loop uplink power control processes? Are there other cases other than beam-based power control?
