MIB and SIB Channel Mapping

Hello Experts.

Can someone explain why MIB and SIB follows different channel mapping?

UE knows where to find Master Information Block

  1. MIB is broadcast in the Physical Broadcast Channel (PBCH)
  2. in MIB UE receives basic system information

On receiption of System Information Block 1

  1. UE is able to receive scheduling information for all other SIBs
  2. SIB 2…SIB n are scheduled on PDSCH similar like other user data or signaling – so UE needs to
    know where to listen and receive.
    3.SIB scheduled (with SI-RNTI) and broadcast via PDSCH
