Hi Experts, anyone knows on what basis 256QAM in downlink is activated and deactivated?
Is it vendor specific, i want to know it.
(I am not talking about 256QAM scheduling, but configuring and releasing AltCQItable.)
As per my understanding, if UE report CAT 12 onward support in UE capability message, based on this network will configure altcqitable in rrc reconfiguration.
And when it will get relase?
I know, not every vendor release it once configured, but if anyone do please let me know.
Until and unless network will remove altcqitable support.

Since 256 qam table also support qpsk right?
It depend on vendor implementation.
Samsung remove it based on certain criteria which includes, RANK, spectral efficient.
4x4 MIMO performance gets degraded if scheduled with 256QAM.
Because 256QAM have comparatively high BLER.
Yes in live network this can be happen.
