How many BWP defined from gNB to UE?

Is there any network having PDCCH duration 3 for control resource set?

May be…

but I have not seen yet.

As the number of 5G users increases, we need more PDCCH capacity.

In that case we can go for duration = 3.

I think small correction in 2.

  1. CORESET duration 1 + Monitoring symbols within Slot 11000000000000 : Only 1 symbol is used for PDCCH occasion and both Symbol 0 or Symbol 1 can be used for pdcch occasion.

And as i said before, i still have some confusion…

Yes, this seems correct to me.

Here is my understanding now on out PDCCH configuration related queries.

As per standard it did not allow that CORESET is starting before end of the previous occurrence of the same CORESET.
It means that, if coreset duration is 2, then monitoringSymbolsWithinSlot cannot be ‘11000000 000000’. Next free symbol to handle second occurrence is 10100000000000.

If we want to configure, ‘11000000 000000’, the coreset duration must be 1.

Gap between search space occurrence is not allowed, i.e. We cannot configure like coreset duration=2 and 10000010000000. At least for non URLLC supported UEs its not allowed. But for URLLC UEs its possible.

Are you talking about search space?

Because if search space duration is 2 and coreset duration is also 2 with monitoringSymbolWithinSlot: ‘11000000000000’ and if UE start monitoring from symbol indices-1 in that case next search space will start before end of previous one.

But it looks feasible with search space duration 1.

Will check it again!

I am talking about CORESET duration here.

Search space duration talks about span of search space in consecutive slots

We cannot configure 11000000000000, if CORESET duration is 2.

I think thats why @ankgitm was also facing issue in this configuration…

Would you please share spec reference with sub clause?

I tried to find in 38.211, but I didn’t find anything relavent to your 1st statement…

No, I don’t have 3GPP reference… I will try to find it.

Above description I concluded after speaking with experts.

For CORESET duration = 1, monitoring symbols within Slot = 11000000000000, symbol is used for PDCCH?

If the 2nd symbol is used for PDCCH, then what about the 1st symbol?

Both symbol 0 and 1 used for PDCCH.

But duration is 1, then how 2 symbols can be used for PDCCH?

Duration 1 for one occurence.

There are 2 occurences here.

But here 38.331 just talks about the definition of involved parameters on RRC layer.
This is not relevant to the below statement:

“As per standard it did not allow that CORESET is starting before end of the previous occurrence of the same CORESET.”

Hi dear, you didn’t read it carefully… For more clarity you can check 38.213.

Sometimes 3GPP do not write things in straight words.

We need to deduce meaning from it.

I didn’t check 38.213, but I didn’t find relevancy here in 38.331 with this statement…

Can you please help me to find the part which i missed in 38.331 whose snap you had shared?

Acknowledged.

But I was just curious to know if anything is there in specs.

As you had mentioned as per standard.

I am talking about this snap where 38.213 mentioned.

Yes, its as per standard only, but you may not find straight sentence
