# Difference in Throughput and Latency for LTE versus 5G NR

Hi Mates,
What difference in Throughput and Latency are we expecting between 10 Mhz LTE (def scs:15kHz) FDD Vs:
a. 10Mhz 5G-NR FDD with scs 15 kHz and
b. 10Mhz 5G-NR FDD with scs 30 kHz?

You can calculate yourself here:

Note: this Calculator (and other similar for 4G throughput calculation) is already listed at our Community Favorites: Telecom Calculators.

Thanks,
84 vs 73 I got.

Another query: In 5G we have 400 Mhz BW capability by NW. Do we have any devices in market which have 400 Mhz BW capability?

So no more than 10% difference.

166 Vs 154 Mbps with SCS 5 Vs 30 kHz in 5G (4x4 MIMO).

It is normal I think.
As SCS increases the symbols are shorten in time frame.

SCS impact in Latency is fine.

400 MHz is available only for FR2.

Nokia did a 5G demo with 2CA in FR2 summing a total of 800 MHz:

OK, is BWP capability there in UE capability message.
Assume 100 Mhz BW for network.
In which message is the BWP that UE can support is communicated?

channelBWs-DL
Indicates for each subcarrier spacing whether the UE supports channel bandwidths
lower than the maximum channel bandwidth as defined in TS 38.101-1 [2] and TS
38.101-2 [3]. If this parameter is not included, the UE supports all channel bandwidths.
For FR1, the bits starting from the leading / leftmost bit indicate 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30,
40, 50, 60 and 80MHz. For FR2, the bits starting from the leading / leftmost bit indicate
50, 100 and 200MHz.

Thank You, got as below:

How to interpret the BW from here?

For FR1, the bits starting from the leading / leftmost bit indicate 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60 and 80 MHz.
For FR2, the bits starting from the leading / leftmost bit indicate 50, 100 and 200 MHz.
The third / rightmost bit (for 200 M) shall be set to 1.

scs-15kHz '11110000 00’B ?

It means it supports 5,10,15 and 20 MHz BWP.
Apart from maximum bandwidth supported.

From where can we get the max BW supported?

I think max bandwidth is assumed to be supported on that band.
