I am trying to shed some light on which RAN deployment model is used by commercial operators.
The questions I am especially interested on are:
- How many RUs are typically served by a single DU?
- Is a DU is typically co-located with the RUs its serving? Does this change in urban or rural environments?
- How many DUs are typically served by a single CU?
- What is the topology of the midhaul network (from CU to DU), are links typically redundant?
