Beam Management, Beam Switching and Beam Refinement in 5G NR

Sure: B886.

MAC DL TB report. Ok!

So far I’ve seen two reports configured, one for beam mobility and another one for channel and interference.

In your example this was a tci for PDCCH.
I don’t seem to find one for PDSCH.

This is one of finest answer!
Thanks!!

Never saw it either, but the logs I have with beam mobility for Nokia, are based on TCI.
Sadly, for Ericsson the logs I have were a single beam.
Let me see if I find something for Huawei.

It is missing in Huawei too.
No tci-presentindci.
I also have logs where PCI and beamid goes one to one like beam is never changed inside same PCI. This is so weird.

Do you have QCAT?
Or the file in .isf?

Yes this is single SSB configuration we see in 600Mhz spectrum with 5Mhz BW.

Sorry for the very stupid questions which I`m about to ask, but, multiple beams were in fact active?
I remember, especially for Ericsson, even on 3.5GHz, their guys saying it was two beams but was only one. LOL!!

There are surely csi reports in FR1.

Do you know which is the TCI id in this?

Yes, but not with RSRP.

Is there any reference which says this?

This is not TCI change “mce_bmsk : TA_CMD_MCE”. You should also have 0xb9b9 when there is beam mobility.

Is this Nokia log?
I saw exactly the same but the problem is I never see new TCI in MAC TB.
The TCI state always 0, is there any setting for it?

TCI are first configured in rrc connection reconfiguration.
This MAC TB is only a subset of what is inside the rrc connection reconfig.

Yep, Nokia.

Precisely.

So you should first see 32 or 64 TCI in rrc reconfig.
Then you should see 8 TCI in MAC TB.
Then in DCI you will get a single TCI.
That is the new beam UE has to switch to.
