What is difference between 5QI and QFI is it same or different?
Actually it’s mentioned all packets belonging to a specific QoS flow have the same 5QI.
1 PDU session having multiple QoS flow.
So QoS flow is stream of packets having equal 5QI?
What about QFI for these packets is it same ?

QFI is like numbering the flow ids.
5QI tells you what kind of treatment to give them.
It is like QCI in LTE.
So whether it is GBR or non GBR.
Less latency or high latency.
These are driven by 5QI.

Ok understood, so QFI for QoS flow is unique.

This determines which.packets are associated with this QFI.
Basically it has packet content filter.

Let’s take example: I have 1 pdu session having 2 QoS flow, then can I say qfi = 1 for first QoS flow and QFI = 2 for second QoS flow?
Then sdap inside CU mapped this QoS flow to a specific DRB?

Yes, correct.

How many PDU session mapping to DRB per UE supported in 5G?
I mean, single UE can handle how many DRB?

Not sure about this.limit. Have tested 8 though.

One more query: can we have mapped pdu session having 2 QoS flow to 2 DRB or its mapped to single DRB?

You can map 2 QoS flow to 2 DRBs for sure.
In UL, QFI and DRBs have one to one mapping.

It’s mentioned pdu session having multiple QoS flow any limit on this.
I mean is it 2, 3 or what number can we go?

For max limits I guess specs are the place.
Not sure about this.

Yes, agree.
Actually PDU, DRB, QFI. 5QI… very different concepts.

Basically they are all parts of the same game, but yes, each with its own role.

Yes :+1:
For UL PDU session is it like single QoS flow then mapped it to DRB by sdap in UE.

Basically 1 PDU can have multiple QoS.
But for each uplink QoS flow.
There would be one to one mapping with DRBs.

Ok, so we in uplink as well 1 PDU can have multiple QoS flow but mapping is 1 to 1 with DRB.
In DL we can map 1 PDU session having 2 QoS flow to single DRB.
That’s only difference.
Rest all same.

This is my.understanding. :+1:
